What do they mean?

clean清潔；乾淨的adjective（比較級cleaner，更高級cleanest）

用作形容詞時，clean指“無灰塵、無污跡”；用作動詞時，它指“通過擦拭、擦洗等方式清除污跡”。

• Jack scrubbed his dirty hands clean.

傑克洗淨自己滿是污垢的雙手。

• Mary always cleans her teeth before she goes to bed.

瑪麗睡前總要清潔牙齒。

cleaner清潔工；吸塵機noun

cleaner指“從事清潔工作的人”，在它前面也可加其他名詞，指“從事某類清潔工作的人或機器”。

• I can't hear the doorbell above the noise of the vacuum cleaner.

真空吸塵機發出太大噪音，以至我沒聽到門鈴響起的聲音。

cleaning清潔（處理）；清洗noun

cleaning指“清潔活動，尤指室內的清潔活動”。

cleanliness清潔（度）noun

cleanliness指“某處的清潔情況或程度”。
